Dubai International Airport sets a new record for welcoming 91 million passengers this year which is more than its previous best number of 89.1 million recorded in 2018.
The first three months of 2024 saw around 23 million fliers use DXB and the heavy rain of April did not impact the traffic this year.
Paul Griffiths, Dubai Airports’ CEO said that “ every day around 250,000 passengers go through the airport. “ the rain of April will have a significant impact over the year and we’re back to normal operations.”
He said “People still arrive and depart as they would normally. The disruption of April month will disrupt the passenger numbers in the short term, but if we talk about the long term, we have a specific problem.”
Soaring Q1-24 Numbers
DXB particularly looks at the performance of the months of January to March that has set the pace for the entire year. Last year around 23 million passengers were recorded during the quarters which is an 8.4% rise as compare to 2023.
Paul Griffiths said “ Dubai has become the right destination for attracting global talents, investors, and travelers from all across the world. Our focus remains on continuous growth and enhancing the overall airport experience for passengers for each person through our terminals”.
