UAE Issues New Visiting Visa Regulations and Many Passengers Were Restricted at Airport

The immigration department has increased the strictness in inspections and checking at UAE airports to look at job seekers who have arrived in the country on their visiting visas. Around a hundred passengers from the Idukki and Kottayam districts in Kerala were kept in custody at the airport as they did not have the actual travel documents. 

UAE Issues New Visiting Visa Regulations

The checking started in Kerala Kochi and Kozhikode airports. The checking process has been tightening up just after when the passenger got detained in the UAE. Around 20 passengers were not allowed to board the flight at Cochin International Airport on this Wednesday. Five people were not allowed to board the flight at Calicut International Airport on a regular basis. Till now 30 passengers in Kozhikode have canceled their journey. 

The airline companies are strongly imposing rules and regulations that visiting visa holders should have all those documents from their hotel bookings to 5,000 Dihram (1.3 lakh in INR) to cover all their expenses. Around a hundred passengers reached the airport with just the air ticket and visa and were restricted from boarding the flight. Even though they gave the visa details, contact numbers, and addresses of their relatives and friends they were asked to receive them in UAE. 

These passengers were not given any refund and were not even allowed to reschedule their journey. Several among them waited in the airport for hours before returning to their home. 

Indigo Airlines officials state that they have received the directives concerning the hotel booking documents and have a margin of around 5,000 Dihrams, apart from the return ticket, and visa on Tuesday night. The visiting visa guidelines notify that the airline companies will be responsible if any passenger travels without their proper documents and lands in the UAE. On top of that, the company has to pay a heavy fine of 5,000 Dihrams per passenger. 

This is the first time that the airport has taken such strict measures for surveilling the passengers in the UAE. For a month the passenger should at least have 3,000 Dihrams (68,000 INR) for a month visa and 5,000 Dihrams for their expense. Credit cards that have these limits are also allowed. 

Guidelines as Issued by the Immigration Organizations

Below we have mentioned the guidelines as issued by the immigration organizations on the passengers who arrive in Dubai on visiting visa.

 

1. The airport officials will ask you about the purpose of your visit, accommodation, and the amount of money they hold for covering their expenses. The one who fails to answer all these questions satisfactorily will not be allowed to leave the airport.
2. The one who reaches their visiting visa or tourist visa will not be permitted to work. Any travel agencies or recruitment agencies can’t promise employment chances on visiting visas as it is illegal.
3. The one who reaches an employment visa should complete and finish all the visa procedures on their entry permit that provide access them to work in UAE. 
4. The visiting visa has the intention of tourist activities then they have to give hotel information, where they will stay, their return ticket, and the money they hold for covering their money expenses.
5. If you are visiting Dubai to meet your relatives, friends, or family then the officials may ask you for copies of your passport and visa as well as their address, contact number, and the place of accommodation.
